Caring for a helmet with stickers: washing, rain, and best practices

You’ve applied your stickers: great. A few simple maintenance steps will help them stay looking good for longer. Here is our advice, though we are deliberately taking a cautious approach: your helmet is a piece of safety equipment, and its user manual remains the definitive guide.

Let the sticker set before your first ride

After applying it, let it dry for 24 hours before washing it or exposing the helmet to rain. This gives the adhesive time to bond properly, especially around the edges. You can find more details in our application guide.

Daily cleaning

  • Use warm water, a little mild soap, and a clean sponge or cloth.
  • Wipe over the stickers without rubbing hard, especially around the edges.
  • Rinse, then wipe with a soft cloth or leave to air dry.

What to avoid

  • Pointing a high-pressure jet at the edges of a sticker: it can lift them.
  • Solvents, strong alcohol, and harsh degreasers: they can damage the print and may harm the helmet. Do not apply any chemicals to the shell without first reading your helmet’s user manual.
  • Abrasive sponges and polishing products on the stickers.
  • Automatic roll-top car washes, obviously.

Is an edge lifting?

If a corner starts to peel, do not pull it. Press it down with a clean finger, then let it dry. If the sticker no longer holds, contact us via the contact page with a photo: we’ll find a solution.

Position it carefully before sticking

Stickers are not designed to be peeled off and reapplied, and once a sticker has been applied to a helmet, it cannot be repositioned. That is why careful placement is so important: take the time to position your design correctly before sticking it on, and use the 3D preview to test the placement if you are unsure.
